Speaking 50聞いて、そのまま声に出す

It’s right next to Kyoto, and it has the biggest lake in Japan, Lake Biwa.

I’m still at home with my family while I finish high school.

So all my friends are here, and I know the area really well.

But I’d love to live abroad someday, maybe in Canada.

There’s a big lake and a lot of mountains, so it’s quiet and easy to relax.

What brought you here?

I’m in a general course in my third year, so I’m getting ready for university right now.

I read one long passage every day, and I’m slowly getting faster.

Once I understood the structure, reading got a lot easier.

I’ve liked it since I was a kid, and I want to use it in my job someday.

But my dream is to become a flight attendant, because I’d get to travel to so many different countries.

Most of my time goes into getting ready for my entrance exams.

Then I have seven classes, and I go straight home, because I’m not in any club.

We talk about anything, and it’s the part of the day I look forward to.

By the last one I’m pretty tired, so it’s hard to stay focused.

I talk with my classmates all day, and I’ll need that even more as a flight attendant.

We do a lot more listening and speaking now than we used to.

More visitors are coming to Japan, so we need English we can really use.

A flight attendant said hello to me on the plane, and I was so happy that I’ve wanted that job ever since.

I’d like to try a part-time job once my entrance exams are over.

My plan is to go to Nagoya University of Foreign Studies and spend a year abroad while I’m there.

I found a one-year program at Seneca College in Canada, and it’s designed for people who want to work on planes.

A trip to Malaysia got me interested first, but seeing his campus is what pushed me.

It was the first time someone spoke to me in English, and I still remember how happy that made me.

I studied a little every day, and seeing that score showed me that I can improve if I keep going.

I’m a quiet person, but I like talking with people, and smiling makes that easier.

I don’t just want to pass tests. I want to enjoy my year in Canada and really talk with people there.

Right now I read an English passage every day and practice listening at school.

I’d go somewhere I’ve never been and try talking with local people.

I’d still go to Canada for a year first, and then travel around Asia and Europe.

I won’t know anyone there yet, so I’m nervous and excited at the same time.

I also need a TOEFL ITP score of 510 twice before I can join the program in Canada.

I hardly ever use English outside of class, so speaking is the hardest part for me.

At home, I study first, and after that I’m usually on YouTube or my phone.

My favorite is a Japanese YouTuber called Fujiwara no Mii, and her videos make me want to go there myself.

Charlie Puth is my favorite. I was in the brass band in junior high, so I’ve always liked music.

It’s a Japanese basketball movie, and the last ten minutes are amazing.

If I finish early, I go out with my friends or watch something.

Watching someone else travel, and imagining myself there, relaxes me more than anything.

If there’s a strawberry dessert on the menu, that’s what I order.

I’d rather walk around a city all day than stay at the hotel.

It’s a huge mall by the river, and the atmosphere there is amazing. Have you been to Thailand?

There are six of us at home, so being by myself is going to feel strange at first.

Lately we’ve been talking about my entrance exams and which university I should apply to.

Kyoto is close to us, so it’s an easy trip, and there’s always something to do there.

I can take the train by myself at night without worrying.

A lot of people worry about what others think, so they hide what they really want to do.

Ever since a flight attendant said hello to me on that first flight, it’s been the subject I care about most.

It gave me something I really want to do, and that changed how I study every day.

I hardly get to use English in daily life, so I also watch travel videos without subtitles.
